RIJEKA, 10 December 2017 - The overcrowded Croatian National Theatre Ivan Zajc hosted a concert by the band Parni Valjak as part of the humanitarian event “Be Here 2017” that has been organized by the Rotary club Rijeka for the sixth time now. An introduction to the concert was given by the host Iva Pavletić, followed by the speeches by the governor of the Croatian district 1913, Dubravko Kušeta, and president of the Rotary club Rijeka, prof. dr. sc. Goran Palčevski, who expressed his gratitude to everybody who supported the event by buying a ticket, including the media, who promoted it, as well as numerous companies and institutions, who did their share in donating.
The tickets for this pre-holiday concert were sold out already in the first week of the sale, which does not come as a surprise since this is a band that can be enjoyed by all generations. The humanitarian event was organized sixth year in a row to aid the Pediatrics Clinic in the Clinical Hospital Center in Rijeka. Several departments of the children’s hospital have been restored and equipped in the meantime. This year’s goal was to restore the Department of Gastroenterology, Nephrology and Endocrinology in order to make the stay at the hospital more pleasant for the children. The band was after the concert awarded with a certificate of appreciation for an exceptional contribution to the event. It is important to note that the band members gave up their honorarium for the show. Spouses Belma and Mirza Džomba gave their contribution to the popularization of the event by becoming the celebrity endorsers. We believe that the concert did more than just meeting the expectations of the public, as well as the organizers!
